Coined by Nobel Laureate Dr. Linus Pauling, orthomolecular means the right molecules in the right amounts. Orthomolecular medicine emphasizes nutritional therapies (increasing the right molecules) and detoxification (decreasing the wrong molecules). Many orthomolecular pioneers used nutritional therapy for psychiatric conditions, but these principles are being applied to an extremely broad range of conditions.
